A Wake-Up Call at 55

I only started listening recently and am already hooked. Laura brings a completely different perspective to true crime by focusing on the victims and the behaviours behind the crimes. I've learned so much about what can happen behind closed doors and how difficult the journey can be for victims. Her knowledge is outstanding, but it's her compassion and determination to raise awareness that keeps me listening. Every episode leaves me with a greater understanding of these important issues. I'm 55 now and have now realised that one of the things Laura Richards does so well is give language to experiences that many women have carried for decades without ever naming them. Myself included. Once you learn what coercion, harassment, sexual assault, victim-blaming, or misogyny actually look like, it's natural to re-evaluate past experiences and think, "Hang on, that wasn't right." The more we talk about this, the more women will realise that no, it's not acceptable to be treated this way.
