Unraveling the truth

Every podcast I have listened to from Laura’s analysis of cases of violence against women have really helped me understand how systematic cohersive abuse is, it’s like Laura shines a spotlight onto the often hidden and misunderstood nature of violence crimes against women and how prevalent it is and how to be more aware of the signs of dangerous behaviour within an intimate relationship. Laura has been able to explain how misogyny has affected men’s attitudes towards women and how it has affected some women’s attitudes towards other women, and how sex and violence can be used as a weapon or tool by abusive and dangerous men to gain control and exploit women giving these misogynistic men a feeling of power and control. Laura has also been able to show how a patriarchal society and judicial system has often left victims of domestic violence in very dangerous situations and sometimes end up murdered when the level of control escalates. How strangulation is often a precursor to murder. Even though it’s terrifying to be aware of these truths it is a great reminder of the warning signs to watch out for. Education is our weapon against these perpetrators of violence against women. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us all Laura it really has explained some of the things that I have experienced within intimate relationships and how prevalent it is and how toxic masculinity has fuelled the rise in violence against women and how it has become more widespread and commonplace. Thank you for putting into words what we can often not and thank you for helping us understand what’s happening in this world of power dynamics and sexual violence against women and children. This is a very serious issue in our society from the top down. So thank you for explaining everything in layman’s terms so we can all understand what is happening.
