This case was the reason my unit, the Sexual Offences Section in the Intelligence Branch was set up at New Scotland Yard.
This was one of the UKs biggest serial killer cases but not one person I spoke with before my series could name a victim he seriously harmed or murdered. Everyone knew the serial killer’s name and his horrific moniker. I wanted to change this and center the victims. They matter. He does not.
I thought I understood the case but I was blown away by what I found out. There were lots of missed opportunitities. The police could have arrested PS very early on. Many women could have been saved. Not ok 💀💣 Drop a 🖤 if you listened 💀💣
