Laura Analyzes The Mounting Evidence in the Gilgo Beach Case

Breaking news in the case: At a press conference on August 4th District Attorney Ray Tierney announced that after 27 years one of the victims found on Fire Island has been formally identified as Karen Vergata. Karen was 34 years old when she disappeared on Valentine's Day 1996. Sadly she was not reported missing. Heuermann has not been charged with her murder.

In this video Laura analyzes the August 1st hearing and the mounting evidence in the Gilgo Beach case including the 12 day searches at Rex Heuermann's house, the 297 guns that were recovered, the underground vault and information contained within the 32 page bail application submitted by the District Attorney Ray Tierney.

Laura also discusses how Heuermann could have been identified in 2010 following the disappearance and murder of Amber Costello, the learning from the murders committed by Dennis Rader, particularly regarding timelining serial killers and the treatment of Heuermann's wife, Asa and children, Christopher and Victoria.

Heuermann has maintained he is innocent of all charges and his attorney, Michael Brown, told the media that the police had the wrong man and they look forward to their day in court.
