On November 24 2025, I was deeply honoured and humbled to receive the award of Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa for my tireless commitment to social justice.
This recognition is not mine alone. It belongs to every woman who spoke up when she wasn’t believed. Every family who fought for justice after the system failed them. Every professional who refused to accept “it’s just a domestic” or “it’s just low level nuisance behaviour.” It’s called coercive control and stalking and we successfully campaigned to make them both criminal offences.
I also want to acknowledge my extraordinary colleagues, campaigners, and survivors who have walked beside me over the years.
And to my mother my shero – a survivor - and the strongest woman I know.
