Superb podcast
Thanks to Peter Faulding I was directed to this podcast because of the Nicola Bulley case. Now of course I’ve listened to some of the other cases which are really interesting too. The explanations from complex cases are put across in a way that’s easy to follow.
Amazing Podcast
Laura is thoroughly enjoyable to listen to. Subject matter is always delivered with feeling and honesty. One of the better crime podcasts I’ve listened to.
Just a must listen
This will make you question everything you think, hear and read. Incredibly thorough, well written and insightful. Listener warning, it might piss you off so much that you swear a lot but honestly I think we need to be more sweary since being polite clearly hasn’t worked. Keep going, this is brilliant work.
Laura is a treasure!
Listening is equally fascinating and heartbreaking, you will not be disappointed! Laura’s point of view and her analysis is always unique and frequently things Ive never heard before even on cases that Ihave already researched. I humbly request that everyone listen, share, and review this podcast and Laura’s other media as much as possible. The more people that know the warning signs, the more lives can be saved! How amazing is that? Please help do your part.
Incredible
I found your podcast through your visit with Mandy Matney on her podcast. I’ve listened to EVERYTHING on Murdaugh Murders Podcast, True Sunlight, and Cup of Justice and I find the information in YOUR podcast very very informative, intriguing and each episode better than the last! Fan for sure. Thanks!
Outstanding analysis of the Nicola Bulley case on crime analyst youtube channel
Thank you so much Laura for your great analysis of Nicola Bulley`s case including your breakdown of the College of Policing Report, Nicola`s victimology, the timeline, the sequence of events in the case, the coroner`s inquest, the IOPC and the ICO reviews on crime analyst youtube channel. I became interested in this case from the start having read newspaper articles as it gained worldwide attention where there were questions to be asked about the decision making of the police investigation. And what struck out to me the most is the police`s decision making in the case including the police hypothesis and the release of personal information about Nicola which created the defensive nature of the Press Conference. It is not a good idea for the police to release their hypotheses straight out of the blue and that was why it caused speculation as it is damaging to the case. So, my thoughts remain with Nicola`s family, friends and her two girls. #NicolaBulley #Accountability #CollegeofPolicing #LancashirePolice
A must ‘hear’ for everyone
Laura is compelling in her delivery and content. This is a most meaningful podcast, that helps us understand why crimes happen, not just a retelling of a crime. I began listening because of Laura’s participation in assisting Sally, Joni and the team in the search for the missing Marion Barter. I’m now in the process of listening to Crime Analyst’s whole back catalogue, loving every minute. Keep on keeping on Laura, for all our sake.
Episode 7
I’m on episode 7 and I’m apoplectic at how these women were treated and not listened to. I feel like this guy was allowed to continue because the egos if the top brass were intoxicated by the media’s attention. Those women deserved better.
Marion Barter Ep 165
Again another intriguing episode. Excellently delivered. Thanks Laura Thanks Joni.
Always something new to learn on this podcast
Today, Listening to the discussion about the disappearance of Marion Barter, I learnt so much about the use of circumstantial evidence in putting together a case. This podcast is a masterclass. Let’s hope that the team, and it’s a huge one, can finally find the answers that Sally needs in finding out what has happened to her mother, Marion.
Outstanding Podcast
Thank you Laura for bringing awareness to the subject of Domestic Violence and coercive control. I have especially loved listening to the analysis of the Marion Barter case it has been outstanding. Your podcasts are truly educational and even life altering for some. So very well done.
The “Deep” deep dive
Can’t believe how much more I get out of the “stories” behind the news since I started listening to Crime Analyst. I’m currently listening to the Gabby Petito story and I remember watching the news of her murder as it broke here in Australia. I now know so much more than I did then and I so appreciate Laura’s ability to break down the events leading up to and following her murder. I can’t understand why more Law Professionals don’t consult with Laura on the scourge of femicide and coercive control. We need Laura here in Australia! Please come…I’ll mind Rafi 😉
Fabulous
Always informative and brilliant. Loving all the in-depth study on Marion Barter. Thankyou
There is no one else that has this level of indepth knowledge of stalking. As a victim of stalking, I developed a curiosity around causation, methodology and how outcomes may be improved. Laura you have delivered on all counts. If every stalking victim had an advocate like you to advise police we would absolutely have less stalking related deaths in the UK. Thank you for all of the amazing work you do!!
This is the best!
Thank you Laura! This is such an important and brilliant podcast. It is my favourite. So smart, respectful and powerful. Everyone should listen to Laura- lives would be saved.
Most important podcast for women to listen to
Laura’s work in coercive control and around changing first response to domestic violence call outs literally saves lives. Laura does not talk about crime for sensationalist and entertainment purposes, like most true crime podcasts do. This is a didactic podcast that helps women spot patterns. Hearing her expertise in breaking down relevant elements within cold cases like the Marion Barter disappearance, and her deep analysis of what went wrong in the law enforcement response when the cops pulled over Gabby Petito and her boyfriend two weeks before her murder be teased out into more general and informed observations about how abusers and perpetrators get away with behaviours against women is astonishing. This is also incredibly valuable insight.
Outstanding
I have so much admiration for Laura Richards. She is a true shero. Her knowledge and expertise are awe inspiring. This podcast is the best out there. And her voice is gorgeous too!
Always on point!
Laura always puts women victims first! She gets it and fights to help those in policing, law and social services understand what’s going on.
Marion Barter
Excellently delivered. Thanks Laura Thanks Joni. 👏Joni has provided a lot more info… which is compelling.
The Lady Vanishes
I remember the first time that Joni mentioned “coercive control” in the early days of “The Lady Vanishes” podcast. She absolutely nailed it! I had also had the same thoughts. I remember thinking that we need to hear from Laura Richards. Thank you Joni and Laura, for your thoughtful analysis on this intricate case.
Live and learn
A must have in ones podcast list! A brilliant, interesting and educational podcast by a very experienced and generous crime analyst without sensationalising. Victims and survivors advocate. More power to you!
A tremendous listen
I’m not in the habit of rating anything online but I was so swept along by the sheer momentum of Crime Analyst that I couldn’t help myself. The research is rigorous to the point of exhaustion. The ethics are impeccable. The presentation style is endearing and articulate while unwrapping cases of great complexity and brutality. What an intelligent lifebuoy amid a sea of bewilderment. More of this in the world please 👏
Women
I love what you’re doing for ALL women. Your podcast has made me a better, stronger woman who can pass that confidence on to me daughters and granddaughters. Thank you for everything you do! 😍
Laura is a gift to the world!
Laura is the expert voice we need to listen to!
Brilliant Analysis
Most informative from two very knowledgeable women.
A real education
I learn so much. Love the deep analysis.
Exceptional
Thankyou for your work Laura - so informative and knowledgeable, and insightful. I work with vulnerable women and use DASH all the time to start, support conversation and also identify (with Duluth) what’s not “normal” for healthy relationships …. Also have been able to challenge the “he’s not done anything for a few days, so it’s probably stopping now” conversation, from a SA support worker, with confidence and directing to your podcast…😡🫣🤔
Simply The Best.
The first time I discovered Laura Richards, was when she teamed with experts to reconstruct the Jon benet Ramsey case. It was truly compelling, Laura and the team were truly astounding in their research and findings. I came across Laura’s Podcast earlier this year. I was totally hooked on listening to all her episodes. Laura takes you on a journey, where you actually feel you are there at the crime scene Her ability to show you the parts we wouldn’t see as the public are truly fascinating. My favourite of Laura’s series, was that about the victims of PS. Loved hearing from Richard Mcann and hearing about his positive lifestyle he leads with his family. I totally recommend listening to Crime Analyst, you will be instantly hooked. Love Louise Johnson.
Interesting, Important, and Empowering
Don’t miss Crime Analyst. If you are keen on understanding victimology, and other dynamics of crime without doing so at the expense of the victims, you will be glad you found this pod. If you appreciate deep, thorough dives into complex cases backed by professional expertise and integrity, you are in the right place. If you value respect for women and children, no one does it better.
Merry Christmas Laura
Thank you for dedicating your life to the protection of women and children. You are a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate you so much. I wish you a very Merry Christmas, to you and your family.
